Project Engineer

A construction project engineer is responsible for coordinating labor resources, materials and schedules to deliver a finished product. A project engineer may be responsible for one or several different projects at any given time, depending on the size and complexity of the project(s).

This position requires good leadership skills, a high degree of organization and the training and experience it takes to read a project plan and design the best approach to efficiently and precisely execute the work within budget.

From budget coordination to engineering know-how that translates into practical application in the field, good project engineers have strong math and science skills along with a solid working knowledge of business principles and administration. In today's construction market a bachelor's degree in engineering is virtually a requirement to hold this position.
