When a construction project requires the installation of machinery and mechanical systems, millwrights are there to make sure it is assembled and installed according to blueprints and in good working order. Millwrights need a broad range of technical expertise to do their job.

Equipment installation requires that the millwright have working knowledge of everything from reading blueprints, to pouring concrete and precision millwork. Not only do millwrights work on new construction projects- they are often busy repairing and maintaining equipment and installing upgrades of equipment for established commercial and industrial clients.

Millwrights are also responsible for moving and hoisting equipment when it arrives on-site and positioning it for assembly. This requires working knowledge of the equipment and tools needed to move and place heavy equipment with precision and without damage.
