Mason

There are many distinct types of masonry specialization. Brick masons, block masons, and stonemasons all work with rugged, durable material to create finished structures and surfaces. This work varies from laying masonry walkways to more complex undertakings like the facades of high-rise buildings.

Depending on their experience, different masons do different work on-site. Veterans usually do the masonry work that demands the most skill and experience, while junior professionals provide support and assistance, or carry out the rest of the work that demands less precision.

Masons work with many materials, including natural and cut stone of all types, precast masonry blocks or panels, and various types of brick.
