GlaziersGlaziers (glass installers) are an integral part of any building construction project. Glass is used more and more today for interior structural elements in a building as well as to let light in and give a commercial building a distinctive look. Many designs call for the entire outside surface of a building to be made of glass. Glaziers select, cut, fit and install panels of glass as well as other similar materials and often build the extruded metal framework needed for installation of the finished glass panels that form a building exterior. Glaziers often work with interior glass elements, such as hanging glass doors or decorative etched glasswork and paneling. They also often apply laminates for protection of visual effect. Heavy interior glasswork often involves the glazier attaching hardware to pre-cut glass panels and assembly. |
