Electrician

Our world runs on electrical systems. It's an electrician's job on a construction project to lay out, install and test electrical systems.

The electrician often has a number of different systems and circuits to wire: high-voltage systems like primary power for the entire finished project, as well as low voltage systems like telecommunications, security or computer data systems. All systems must be finished to exacting operational standards as well as meet electric codes for safety.

Electricians play their biggest role in building construction. Working from blueprints, electricians locate primary junctions, other equipment to be installed, load centers and panel boards, and from there begin to construct the system, running the building's new wiring through conduit or piping between walls and designated spaces depending on building codes and project specs.
