Carpenter

Carpentry is the most commonly-used specialty trade in the construction field. Primarily engaged in various duties involving the shaping and joining of wood, carpenters perform a wide variety of duties on-site. From building concrete forms and framing walls to laying hardwood flooring and installing finished carpentry on buildings, carpentry is a must-have for most projects. Many commercial construction carpenters specialize in one or two activities such as framing and concrete forms.

Working under a project supervisor, carpenters often work from blueprints and plans, and are first responsible for measuring and laying-out their work and ensuring things are square and plumb when finished.
